Welcome to Les Flâneries --- a blog about my wanderings around Paris and beyond, complimented by my photos and words.
A Little Escape to Conflans-Sainte-Honorine
Only about 30km away from Paris, Conflans-Sainte-Honorine is a pleasant little town known for the “péniches” - custom boats that are docked on its shores.
Strasbourg
The 7th biggest city in France in terms of population, Strasbourg is like a beautiful daughter born to a French mother and a German father. It is a pleasant city that is surprisingly international and boasts an excellent quality of life.
The Garden at the Albert Kahn Museum
A stroll around the garden at the Albert Kahn museum is like a quick trip around the world. It is like a different world within the premises of the museum, which is why I love this place so much.
Parc des Buttes-Chaumont
One of the biggest green spaces within Paris’ city boundaries, Parc des Buttes-Chaumont is a very popular park among Parisians.
Artsy Paris
One thing I love about Paris is its abundance of exhibitions and art galleries. It is truly a world capital of arts.
Heidelberg
Some people say Heidelberg is Germany's most inspiring city. Walking along its streets lined with charming houses, it is easy to justify this claim. It is, after all, one of the most important tourist destinations in Germany.
Hallo, Frankfurt !
In general, one goes to Frankfurt for business, not for pleasure. And as someone I know who currently lives there so memorably said: "There is nothing to see in Frankfurt. Period!"
Munich, My New Love
After spending two weeks learning German and living like a local, Munich has come to occupy a very special place in my heart. Its beautiful streets lined with impressive buildings and meticulously tended gardens, especially the vast Englischer Garten, the abundance of beer gardens and a pervading cheerful southern German atmosphere are some of the aspects that I really appreciate about this city, also known as “Toytown” for its easygoing attitude, extremely high quality of life and low levels of crime.
Bamberg
After Rothenburg ob der Tauber, I continued on to another highlight along southern Germany’s Romantic Road : Bamberg.
Rothenburg ob der Tauber
This weekend, I am basing myself in Nuremberg to check out a couple of towns along the famed Romantic Road. And the first of these towns is Rothenburg ob der Tauber.
Germany, Here I Come!
This summer I decided to spend a couple of weeks in Germany to improve my German. I have been learning German since last September.
Musée National Picasso
Thanks to a friend, who had two free entry tickets, I finally made it to the Musée National Picasso in Paris!
